I agree with the other review 00 and 2 1/2 years later, the TV won't turn! I have a Zenith from 1993 that works perfect!!! Never an issue. I will never buy Samsung anything ever again.
WARNING - FACTORY DEFECTS
This TV has cheaply made, inferior parts that frequently fail after a year or two. For more info check [...] or just web search "samsung clicking sound" or samsung won't turn on".
Basically, the cheap capacitors on the TV break after about 2 years of normal use. It leads to the TV no longer turning on. This can be fixed by replacing a few defective parts (they will cost about B000N53SJM.50 each), but unless you are experienced with soldering electronic boards, you'll have to pay someone to do it for you. Total cost will be around 0 through Samsung or your retail outlet, or you can take it to a repair shop and spend to 0.
Samsung is well aware of this problem and unwilling to help the hundreds of thousands of customers who have had to deal with this issue. Factory warranty is for 1 year, and the parts conviently seem to last around 2 years. Samsung will not offer any help other than overpriced repair.
BTW - Based on my web research, this seems to be a problem with many samsung models, not just this one in particular. Buy Samsung TV's at your own risk.

Warranty I bought was waste of $$$
Well I've had this TV now for about 2 years and It's outlived my extended warranty. What a great TV, bright vivid colors and deep blacks. Awesome TV!!!
AWAITING SECOND REPAIR IN 6 MONTHS
We purchased this TV just after Christmas. It quit working (no signal, could not turn off or on) in April. After several weeks and two visits by the repair people to replace two boards, the TV was finally working again. Less than two months later it quit again - no signal received. This time we have been waiting two weeks again for the repair people and they are supposed to come tomorrow. Each time we have given the repair people our home phone and cell phone numbers but once the parts come in we still have to play phone tag for several days since they won't call any number except our home phone and we are at work during the day. Samsung tells us that if it breaks once more during the year warranty they will finally replace. My fear is that it will break again just after the warranty has expired. We paid a lot for this TV and I feel that it was wasted and we now have no recourse! Also, when the TV does work the sound is horrible. We have better sound from old TVs that cost much, much less than this one did! Don't buy a Samsung!
Unbeatable value. Excellent display.
Bought this set last July after 3 months of research. The features that sold me were:
The picture on standard def channels, since I did not plan on paying for digital programming. I hijacked the remote at Sears and flipped back and forth from standard to hi-def on every set they had. While not as clear as my old Sony analog, the clarity is far and above comparable LCD's.
Looks great with my Samsung upconvert DVD player, and the onboard tuner picked up about 20 hi-def channels over my basic cable. The component connections generate a good picture as well. My kids' VHS tapes and Nintendo Wii look great.
The low glare screen has been great, since I mounted the set in a very bright room. The high-gloss black finished can cause some reflection, but a small price to pay for a set that looks this nice.
10 months later, I am still extremely happy with the set. Especially since the price hasn't dropped. Amazon has always treated me well with any purchase, be it 00 or . I was not home for delivery, but my wife said that they were professional and courteous.

This TV is amazing!
This TV has every feature you can dream of and a ton of component inputs/outputs! The picture is so clear with a BD player that you might walk into the TV if you didn't realize you weren't actually there... It looks awesome on the wall in the living room.
The TV sound kind of sucks, but who cares? It's plenty good for a small to large room, and you really should purchase separate sound if you want to appreciate those Blurays anyway. You can purchase a cheap surround sound for less than $[...]. bucks.
Amazon shipping was outstanding! I had some reserve about purchasing something like this online, but the delivery was fast and professional. Will definitely purchase my next TV from Amazon!
1 year perspective
it's been 1 year since I bought this Samsung LN40a750 and have been no disappointments, colors are heads above the other cheaper sets being sold today, I keep looking at my relatives LCDs and yes they saved more on the brand of the day at the local BJ's but they are always lacking something -usually in picture quality.
It has more than enough HDMI connections for my PS3 and PC and other gear, The speakers are good for TV stereo but I route it all through my sound system through the digital out.
out of curiosity I took a look to see how much it cost today and found it not far from the price I paid for it on sale a year ago - it was worth every penny then and it would be today as well
Samsung tv review
I've had this tv for a year and there is no doubt this is the best tv I've ever owned. Stunning imaging, sleek appearance, and many imputs - allowing me to hook up almost a dozen sources. The only downside is the frame easily can be scratched. I used what I thought was a very soft cloth to dust it with, and the scratches left on the frame are really noticable. If you touch the touch-screen features on the frame, it's hard to clean without scratching. Now I only use the remote to operate the tv. No buyer's remorse.
Frequent repairs for Samsung tv's
We bought this product about 14 months ago and have not had any problems until last week when it decided to begin turning itself on and off repeatedly (with no input from us). The technician says this is a common problem and that they fix more Samsungs than any other television. Of course the warranty was up two months ago and living a rural area means over 0 just to get a technician here. If you buy Samsung, get an extended warranty.
Great TV!
I love this TV. It has a great picture and great features, including multiple HDMI inputs. It's great for sports....no tailing. I got a great deal on it and would buy another one in a heartbeat.

Great Purchase
I've had this tv for about 2 months. I got it for 9 and feel that I got more than my money's worth. Excellent picture and audio. Xbox 360 is great, the PC is great, HDTV excellent. This is my first HDTV. The ability to connect the PC is what takes this TV over the top. The VGA connection is excellent. Through the PC, I've been able to use Netflix, Hulu, Boxee, etc.
One thing of note for those curious about shipping. Shipping company called and scheduled a delivery. The delivery actually was 5 hours early and just so happens that I was at home at the time. The driver only brought the tv in and left. There was no setup or pre-checklist that he adhered. I was fine with that.

Very pleased with this purchase
I was looking for an lcd tv to replace our old tube tv in our family room. I found this tv at best buy for about 0 more. I was glad I also looked at amazon. The experience couldn't have been better. My brother has bought 2 flatscreens and also had no issues.
As far as the tv goes, we already had a samsung plasma and loved that as well. The picture is as crisp as our plasma. I did have to play around with the settings a bit to get the right colors, especially facial pigments. Also, the 120hz feature had to be dialed down a notch to avoid making filmed tv shows like sitcoms less jittery. Most shows I learned are at 60hz and so will appear jittery on here. Exception is live tv as far as I've noticed. Basketball games for example were perfect. I did see that turning the 120hz setting to its highest made the people on the tv seem almost 3-d. But that jittery stuff was just too distracting.
Sound is good for a tv speaker. There's some pseudo surround sound you can turn on but in the end this not a home theater and we don't need that for the kids to watch. You can get it pretty loud and clear.
We still have to get a blu-ray but even the pictures from the dvd look clear.
Eventually we'll try hooking up a pc to this and see how that looks. The only thing I wished for these tv's was to have built in wi-fi instead of having to buy an adapter. Cha-ching!

I want anyone reading to know I am a TV nut and early HDTV adopter. The slightest picture imperfection (excessive grain, inaccurate color, color bleeding, etc...) will drive me crazy and I am happy to report this Samsung has displayed none. This is my 3rd HDTV purchase and first in the 1080p 120+hz era.
Got my hands on a this set last week for under 0. Hooked it up, calibrated with DVE and all I can say is WOW.
Needed very little tweaking out of the box (Movie Mode). Picture is outstanding. Anyone in the market for a TV of this size should not hesitate.
Colors are spot on. Blacks and whites are very good (after calibration). Gray scale is very accurate (after calibration). Screen uniformity is also very good.
Still playing with 120hz motion control. I think I like soap opera effect (at least when watching cable).
Blu-rays really look outstanding. You will not get a better TV in this price range.
Great tv with a few issues
I love the tv, it was exactly as described; however there is one major issue with the tv that people should know. This tv has the power button on the front bottom part of the tv, but it is not a button you push in; it is a button that is I think heat sensitive because you have to press power sign on the glass which is hard to see unless your looking straight at it. Think of the tv as a rectangle and on the bottom part of the rectangle smack dab in the middle is on button sensor. This is not in the manual which makes it even worse when trying to figure it out. I believe that was the only poor thing about it. I wish the picture and picture worked with TV to TV, not just component to TV and it doesn't work great with cable unless you play around ALOT with the picture stuff like sharpness and color, etc.
Also, if you have an xbox, please realize that it can only go to 60hz so don't get the tv if your getting it mainly for gaming purposes.
With the delivery, it took like 2 weeks when it said I would get it within 4 days. I didn't mind too much because the shipping was free, so can't really complain they sent a 40 inch for free. The shipping people were really nice when they scheduled the drop off and they were right on time. I would buy from them again.
